UPTON VALE BIKERS

This is the internationally acclaimed web site for Upton Vale Bikers, a group of like-minded Christians who all worship at Upton Vale Baptist Church in Torquay, Devon, UK, and believe it or not happen to enjoy motorcycling.

There is a gallery of photos covering the activities and trips, plus articles from members of the group. A calendar is kept up to date so interested people can keep an eye on forthcoming events. There is also a contacts page to get in touch with us, should you feel the urge.

The essence of the group is to provide an activities base for motorcycling within the Church, bearing in mind so many of us are motorcyclists. It's not a "men's" group, and neither are there age limits. Finally, you don't have to be a Member of Upton Vale Baptist Church. In other words, if you are interested, come along.

To mis-pinch a quote, "think not what the club can do for you but what you can do for the club". In other words rides and other events don't happen by chance. The events are the product of people's ideas, so please everyone get your thinking caps on and let's enjoy those meandering roads.

Riding with us 

It should be said that this is not an exclusive club, should you wish to join us for an event. You don't have to worship at Upton Vale. You don't even have to be a believer (other than in bikes). But, you should know who you are riding with. We enjoy our riding, make no mistake about that, but we do so by obeying the Highway Code, being courteous to other road users and the general public, and staying sober at all times. You can play, but only within our rules, that is - be legal, be nice!

Man shall not live by bikes alone

We do love our God, true. We do believe in Jesus Christ, the living Saviour, true. We do believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, true. We also believe in food! If you come out with us, you will not go short. Luckily the South West has some truly idyllic places to enjoy some seriously calorific nosh. Of course, you don't HAVE to eat, but it is half the point!

We had a very successful year in 2011 and are set for even more adventures in 2012. This website will help keep everyone posted of things past, present and future.

If there is anything you would like to see included here, please get in touch by email (you know the contacts) and it will all be considered.

Specifically if you have any articles that you would like to donate to the site, please pass them on. Even better if there are photos to go with it. It could be a trip you went on, some history on a bike you once owned (or still own), or just about anything really. Don't worry too much about grammar and spelling, the editors will take care of that.
